Spolupracoval aj so slávnym skladateľom Andrew Lloyd Webberom a a od roku 2002 sa usadil v Deep Purple. Sporadicky realizuje aj sólové knahrávky a posledné roky cez koncertné pauzy Deep Purple hráva klubové koncerty pod hlavičkou DON AIREY & friends. Tentoraz príde na Slovensko hneď dvakrát. V novomestskom Blue Note sa cíti ako doma, jeho stenu zdobí Donova veľká podobizeň s vlastnoručným venovaním. V Košiciach sa slávny klávesák predstaví prvý krát, predvedie zmes skladieb, na ktorých sa podieľal ako skladateľ, alebo aranžér s Gary Moore, Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Deep Purple ale hlavne predstaví vydarenú tohtoročnú albumovú novinku „One of a Kind“ ! Za mikrofónom sa predstaví aktuálny spevák skupiny Nazareth Carl Sentance a na gitare Simon McBride, ktorí sa na novom albume podieľali aj ako spoluautori.
