Playful and profound, but above all boundlessly diverse, such will be the music at Konvergencie 2022, the annual international festival of chamber music. At the concert which opens its 23rd year, the chamber orchestra Convergence Players, led by the Swiss-based violinist Igor Karško, will perform the passionate, virtuoso Cello Sonata in A Major by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827), the romantic Sextet in G Major by his admirer and successor Johannes Brahms (1833 – 1897), and a prayer and meditation by the contemporary Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov (1937). The soloist in the orchestral arrangement of Beethoven’s work will be the cellist Jozef Lupták.
