Majstrovské dielo amerického skladateľa Jakea Heggieho, najhranejšia nová opera za posledných 20 rokov, má veľmi očakávanú premiéru v Met v strašidelnej novej produkcii Iva van Hovea. Na základe spomienok sestry Helen Prejean o jej boji o dušu odsúdeného vraha, Dead Man Walkingzhoduje sa s vysokou dramatickosťou svojho námetu s krásnou a dojímavou hudbou Heggieho a brilantným libretom Terrencea McNallyho. Režisér Met Music Yannick Nézet-Séguin sa postavil na pódium tejto prelomovej premiéry s mezzosopranistkou Joyce DiDonato v hlavnej úlohe sestry Helen. Vo vynikajúcom obsadení sú aj basbarytonista Ryan McKinny ako odsúdenec na smrť Joseph De Rocher, sopranistka Latonia Moore ako sestra Rose a legendárna mezzosopranistka Susan Graham, ktorá spievala Helen Prejean v premiére opery v roku 2000, ako De Rocherova matka.
