Carcass je považovaný za hlavnú inšpiráciu a hudobný základ pre väčšinu deathgrindových/goregrindových kapiel a zároveň je jedným zo zakladateľov melodického death metalu a death 'n' rollu. Gitarista Michael Amott založil taktiež death metalovú kapelu Arch Enemy.
