Kontrabas s Konvergenciami ladí, témou i intimitou, ktorá je blízka komornej hudbe. Túžili sme po ňom niekoľko rokov. Monodráma Patricka Süskinda s charizmatickým Martinom Hubom v hlavnej úlohe je príbehom kontrabasistu, ktorý nikdy nebude udávať tón v orchestri. Spolu s ním prežijete večer plný napätia, pochybností, humoru aj veľkých zvratov. Nachvíľu nás pustí do najtajnejších zákutí ľudskej duše, nachvíľu zatajíme dych, aby sme vzápätí s úľavou vydýchli a možno sa aj pousmiali. S touto hrou strávil Martin Huba na javisku Štúdia L+S dvadsaťštyri rokov života. Po desaťročnej pauze sa vracia silnejší ako kedykoľvek predtým. Ak ste ho nestihli na Pohode, príďte na Konvergencie. A ak ste ho stihli, príďte aj tak. Budeme sa tešiť.

By its theme and its intimacy (a quality that chamber music prizes), The Double Bass is in tune with Konvergencie Chamber Music Festival. For several years we’ve been longing to indtroduce this performance. Patrick Süskind’s monodrama, with the charismatic Martin Huba in the lead role, is the story of a double bassist who will never play a note in an orchestra. Together with him, you will experience an evening full of tension, doubts, humour, and sharp reversals. For a while we are admitted to the most secret corners of the human soul; for a while we hold our breath, only to suddenly exhale with relief and perhaps even with a smile. Martin Huba spent twenty years of his life with this play on the Studio L+S stage. After a ten-year pause he returns, more powerful than ever before. If you did not catch him at the Pohoda Festival, come to Konvergencie. And even if you did see it there, come again. We’ll be delighted. (Please, note, that this performance is in Slovak language.)
