Miki Skuta: The Future Symphony Orchestra
A new project by the outstanding Slovak pianist, bringing classical music where you would never have expected it. 

The Future Symphony Orchestra is a project that fuses two seemingly incompatible worlds – classical music and the most up-to-date digital technology. Their combination enables the artist to hold a symphony concert essentially anywhere, even in places where you would never have expected classical music or where it would not have been possible to hold such a concert for reasons of space. The project’s author Miki Skuta is one of the top-ranking Slovak musicians, in jazz and improvised music as well as in the classical field. Apart from playing the piano he also composes, and he is the holder of some notable awards (Crystal Wing, Frico Kafenda Prize, nomination for the Tatra Bank Prize for Art, Radio_Head Award). When choosing a place for this special concert we took inspiration from the renowned German music publisher Deutsche Grammophon and its Yellow Lounge project, whose basic philosophy is that classical music should also be played in night clubs and other such untypical places. Viva Musica! has therefore for the first time moved its venue to one of the most popular Bratislava night clubs, Nu Spirit. Apart from solo pieces for piano by J. S. Bach, French impressionists and American minimalists, you will be able to hear movements from the best-known piano concertos with the full-blooded sound of an accompanying symphony orchestra. Also part of the evening will be a conversation on music with Juraj Kušnierik and his guests and a (non)classical after party conducted by DJ- Daniel Baláž.
